Description

The Colombia Solidarity Bridge expansion was approved by President Donald Trump as part of a new series of bridge projects aimed at bolstering cross-border trade in the region. The expansion includes new southbound and northbound commercial bridge spans, allowing the existing bridge to handle FAST commercial vehicles and oversized traffic. It will also create dedicated lanes for noncommercial vehicles and buses, streamlining traffic flow and modernizing one of the most critical ports on the U.S.-Mexico border. The project includes two new four-lane spans for commercial traffic parallel and adjacent to the existing Laredo-Colombia Solidarity International Bridge land port of entry.
