Colosseo-Fori Imperiali Metro Station Archaeology Center

completed

The Colosseo-Fori Imperiali metro station in Rome has been transformed into an archaeological center that integrates modern transportation infrastructure with the preservation and exhibition of ancient Roman artifacts. The project involved sensitive engineering techniques such as ground freezing and hand excavation to protect archaeological remains and the surrounding historical monuments. The station serves as both a transit hub and a living museum, showcasing artifacts and providing educational experiences to visitors. Similar stations are planned near Piazza Venezia and St. Peter's Basilica to create a network blending modern urban life with historical heritage.
