Description

Description

The project will increase access to recreation by constructing approximately 1.34 km of universal designed trail located in a Columbia Shuswap Regional District owned park adjacent to Loftus Lake Fen in the Blind Bay area. The new trail will provide relatively flat accessible non-motorized walking opportunities for area residents, including rest points and a viewing area. The universal design provides an opportunity for aging community members and those with mobility challenges to exercise on safe trails specifically designed to provide access to the outdoors, nature and hiking opportunities. The project works will include: - construction of an approximately 1.34 km long and approximately 1.5m wide universal design trail with compacted crushed gravel surface; - construction of rest points or pull outs approximately every 200m; - construction of a viewing area; and, - all related works.
