Description

Description

The COMBATHATE project aims to combat hate speech and hate crimes against individuals with mental disabilities through a multi-faceted approach. The objectives of the proposal are to develop comprehensive support systems, provide specialised training for support staff, enhance cooperation with law enforcement and public authorities, conduct a public awareness campaign, and continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of these support systems. These objectives will be achieved through a series of structured activities. The project will start with a thorough needs assessment in order to tailor the support mechanisms effectively. This will be followed by the development and implementation of psychological and legal support systems, the organisation of training for support staff and the establishment of cooperation protocols with law enforcement. In addition, the project will conduct an awareness campaign to educate the public and promote inclusion. Throughout the project, continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms will ensure that support systems remain effective and adaptable. The relevance of this project to the Work Programme lies in its alignment with the EU priorities of combating hate speech and hate crime, promoting fundamental rights and strengthening cooperation between civil society organisations (CSOs) and national authorities. By addressing these issues, COMBATHATE contributes directly to the EU's objectives of promoting an inclusive society and ensuring that individuals with mental disabilities can live free from discrimination and violence. The project draws on the expertise of a consortium of partners, each bringing unique skills and experience to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of the project outcomes. The structured approach and clear division of tasks between partners will ensure that all objectives are achieved within the project timeframe.
