Description
Description | The CLIVE (Combating Loneliness & Isolation with Volunteers in Europe) project will involve 80 European Solidarity Corps volunteers from 5 European countries in 5 different activities that will engage with different target groups at risk of loneliness and isolation. The COVID19 pandemic has adversely affected specific target groups such as young people, the elderly, women, and people with disabilities who were already at risk of loneliness and isolation and the associated mental health issues that these experiences can cause. The project enables young European Solidarity Corps volunteers to come together in international teams to express solidarity by implementing short-term interventions that address common European challenges such as poor mental health, loneliness and isolation. The CLIVE project has COVID-19 impact and recovery, particularly through supporting the health and social care systems as a priority objective. The CLIVE project will implement activities that will tackle prevention, promotion, and support in the field of health. This project will address and improve the mental health of different target groups but especially vulnerable young people and vulnerable elderly people. There will also be an additional benefit to the mental health of the volunteers themselves. Through making our societies more inclusive, the project will promote health, healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and well-being overall. |
