Description | The CONSENT project (Combating ONline early access to Sexually explicit material and ENhancing Tools to foster youngsters’ healthy intimate relationships) aims to prevent gender-based violence among youngsters with a focus on sexualised violence, through: - Hindering the internet’s impact on premature and hyper sexualisation and sexism, and preventing online violence against children and teens - Promoting healthy gender roles, equality and consensual behaviours among youngsters in peer relationships to safeguard their emotional development and wellbeing CONSENT will: 1- Inform 400 parents and caregivers around the easy access to sexually explicit material by kids, and enable them to hinder early contact and to foster youth sexual and emotional healthy development. 2- Improve the knowledge of 50 teachers and educators on online abuses and use of pornography, and their capability to detect and tackle them with youth, to improve affective development and protect their health. 3- Raise the awareness of 600 youngsters on gender stereotypes and roles, and on consent, and empower them to become critical agents, especially on implications of web and pornography on intimate relationships. 4- Improve the engagement of 100 institutions, key stakeholders and IT experts, to safeguard online security of children and healthy development of youth, through developing actions, tools and policies. The CONSENT European capacity building programme for parents and teachers, institutional recommendations, the adult readiness gamified tool, and the CONSENT co-designed online toolkit for young critical agents will be delivered in 5 languages and disseminated all over Europe for replication. Moreover, the European CONSENT youth campaign for critical agents, and the CONSENT adult readiness campaign will have extensive reach among youth (3000), adults and general public (6000) all over Europe to multiply the impact on gender equality and children safeguarding. |
