Description | Madkour Holding Group and GoGas Holding have entered into a Joint Development Agreement to build a combined-cycle gas-fired power plant in Nouakchott, Mauritania. The plant will be powered by natural gas from the offshore Banda-Tevet gas field. The first phase is expected to start electricity generation by the end of 2028 with an initial output of 200 MW, with future expansions increasing capacity to about 365 MW. This project aims to strengthen energy infrastructure, support the national power grid expansion, improve electricity supply reliability, and enhance regional electricity trade through the West African Power Pool. |
