Description | NASA has released a draft solicitation for commercial partners to develop a human outpost to succeed the International Space Station (ISS), which is expected to be decommissioned in 2030. The project is part of NASA's Commercial Low Earth Orbit Development Program (CLDP) and involves developing U.S. commercial LEO destination system capabilities for crew and cargo transportation, utilization services, and ground and mission systems. NASA plans to award at least two Development and Demonstration Objectives Space Act Agreements funded by $1-$1.5 billion over the next five years, with a minimum four-crew, 30-day demonstration mission aboard a commercially owned and operated outpost. |
