Project work area 1 “Data transmission for new STS commercial real estate indicators (STS CREIs)” aims to provide a better coverage of the most recent developments in the construction sector and thus facilitate the decision-making process of its main users. The project activities will focus on the compilation of two new STS CREIs and their integration into in the Short-Term Statistics in Bulgaria, as stipulated in the Proposal for a Regulation on non-financial commercial real estate statistics, which is to take effect as of 2026. Eurostat’s methodological guidelines on STS CREIs will be applied to guarantee sustainability of the project results. The NSI will contribute to the objectives of this work area by carrying out the following main activities: The team will research the relevant legislation and subsequently establish a procedure for the collection, processing, validation and transmission of pilot quarterly data on STS CREIs to Eurostat. A metadata file will also be submitted. The PRODCOM List follows the changes and the updates of the NACE and the CPA. The project aim is development of data backcasting method for already collected industrial production time series data by NACE rev. 2.1 PRODCOM List based classification. The following specific objectives are going to be achieved: • Develop methodology to data backcasting by using production method - micro-approach; • Preparation of specific guidelines, sample of PRODCOM codes and sample of enterprises for special cases • Develop and test electronic technical tool • Production and transmission to Eurostat of backcasted industrial production statistical time series for period 2025-2021 • Developed and tested communication channels with the respondents The general effect of data backcasting of industrial statistics time series data by a NACE rev. 2.1 PRODCOM List based classification will ensure data comparability over time and to continue providing long time series to the users of production statistics.
