Description
Description | The implementation of the project has contributed to the revitalisation of public rural space by activating the local community. That would not have been possible without the engagement and work of local leaders, as well as the involvement of the residents themselves.Katarzyna Kulesza, project coordinatorThe centre’s thermal insulation was improved and pavements, a woodshed and an outbuilding were constructed. Equipment purchased and installed to enable the upgraded facility to be used as a training room included a projector, screen, computer, sound system and a monitor for operating electronic equipment. The centre’s monitoring technology is connected to a similar system for the entire commune, located in Środa Śląska. In addition, a new multi-function outdoor playground/sports pitch was laid using the latest polyurethane surface. Work here included the installation of lighting, landscaping and planting.Improved accessComplementary developments around the centre formed part of the scheme and included the upgrade of a 0.44 km section of municipal road, plus lighting and parking spaces. The changes should improve traffic flow and road safety, while making it easier for disabled people to reach the new facilities.A number of activities have been held to promote the centre, such as a film competition that was open to local residents. Those entering prepared short documentaries about their daily lives. In addition, sports competitions – including a volleyball tournament – have been held on the new sports pitch.Popular venueAlong with individual residents and families, a number of local organisations are enjoying the new facilities, including the Association of Kryniczno Village Residents, the village council of Kryniczno, the Village Housewives' Association, and the Parish of St. Wawrzyniec DM. Thanks to their support, these organisations make the building a hub of local community life.Total investment and EU fundingTotal investment for the project “Community centre in the rural village of Kryniczno as a new centre of village activity” is EUR 226 802 (PLN 971 848), with the EU’s European Regional Development Fund contributing EUR 145 153 (PLN 621 983) through the “Dolnośląskie Voivodeship” Operational Programme for the 2014-2020 programming period. The investment falls under the priority “Social Inclusion”. |
