Community Nursing Units (CNUs) PPP project in Ireland

The project involves the construction of facilities for the care of the elderly, including both short-term and long-term beds in a total of 530 units at the Ardee, Athlone, Clonmel, Thomastown, Killarney, Midleton, St Finbarr’s (Cork) in Ireland. The buildings will mostly be two-story, except for St Finbarr's, which will have a two and three-story superstructure due to the nature of the site.Building settings will be made of precast concrete. Each CNU is made up of a number of 25-bed households including single and twin bedrooms en-suite. Common areas and therapeutic spaces include family lodging rooms, clinical treatment rooms, physiotherapy and occupational therapy rooms, and hair salons. The facilities will be located on sites owned by Ireland’s Health Service Executive (HSE) close to existing healthcare premises.
