Description
Description | The CUFL (Community Urban Farming Lifestyles) project will involve 40 European Solidarity Corps volunteers from 4 European countries in 4 different activities that will engage with other young people interested in improving and increasing their healthy lifestyles through urban farming/ gardening. The COVID19 pandemic has adversely affected the mental and physical health of young people, especially through increasingly sedentary lifestyles and poorer nutrition brought on in part by the supply chain and inflation issues caused by the pandemic and subsequent war in Ukraine. The project enables young European Solidarity Corps volunteers to come together in international teams to express solidarity by implementing short-term interventions that address the common European challenge of the health crisis. The CUFL project has COVID-19 impact and recovery, particularly through supporting more healthy lifestyles as a priority objective. The CUFL project will implement activities that will tackle prevention, promotion, and support in the field of physical and mental health. This project will address and improve the health of especially vulnerable young people including refugees from Ukraine. There will also be an additional benefit to the mental and physical health of the volunteers themselves. Through making our urban spaces more pleasant, green and sustainable, the project will promote health, healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and well-being overall. |
