Comoros - Institutional Capacity Building Project (ICBP) - Supplementary grant

The present project is relative to the Institutional Capacity Building Project (ICBP). This UA 0.595 million supplementary grant will provide additional funding to the ICBP and help to reduce the public finance and statistics financing needs still outstanding, despite the substantial contribution of the initial IBP grant, support received through Pillar III of the Fragile States Facility (FSF) and funding from other technical and financial partners. Otherwise, the ICBP is designed for the purpose of institutional capacity building, particularly improvement of public resource management. Indeed, for more than a decade, the Union of the Comoros has experienced political and institutional crises that have considerably weakened its institutional capacity with respect to administration and financial management, data collection, monitoring and analysis. The aim of the project is to build institutional capacity of the Union the Comoros and the three autonomous islands (Grand Comoros, Anjouan and Moheli). The PRCI is structured around three (03) components, namely: (i) public finance support; (ii) support to planning and statistics capacity; and (iii) project management.
