COMPANHIA BRASILIENSE DE GAS - CEBGAS was incorporated in March 2001 as a joint stock company with the purpose of distributing and commercializing natural gas to the Federal District. Description | COMPANHIA BRASILIENSE DE GAS - CEBGAS was incorporated in March 2001 as a joint stock company with the purpose of distributing and commercializing natural gas to the Federal District. Its shareholding structure was established as partnership of the state-owned company Companhia Energetica de Brasília – CEB (17%), Termogas S.A. - CS Participacoes S.A. (51%) and Petrobras Gas S.A. – GASPETRO (32%). A 30-year build, operate, transfer contract was signed in 2001 with the local government. Commercial operation commenced in 2003. In December 2015, GASPETRO sold 49% of its shares to the Japanese company Mitsui Gás e Energia do Brasil. The new shareholding of CEBGAS is Companhia Energetica de Brasília – CEB (17%), Termogas S.A. (51%), Petroleo Brasileiro S.A. (16,3%) and Mitsui Gas e Energia do Brasil (15,7%). |
