Comparison of different metal 3D printing processes depending on the application

The ComPrintMetal3D project aims to provide SMEs in the Greater Region with a guide for additive manufacturing of metal components. In this booming manufacturing industry, there is a very strong dynamic and a growing number of technologies. This situation and the lack of an overview prevent SMEs from effectively deciding on the most economical manufacturing option. In order to make this possible, a guide will be progressively developed and disseminated. First, the state of the art of technology is compiled, the basic properties of the materials are determined and compared with each other. Then, the project partners select demo parts in the areas of activity of the partner companies. Their possible applications are then clarified and presented by means of tests and optimisations.During the project, the results will be made available free of charge to the general public.
