Description | A Dallas-based developer, Compass Data Centers, has received unanimous approval from the Statesville City Council on the first reading of a rezoning request for a 350-acre site off Stamey Farm Road. The project plans to develop a five-building data center campus totaling more than 1.3 million square feet, with each building approximately 270,000 square feet, supported by dozens of backup generators. The rezoning shifts the site from residential-agricultural and highway business districts to light industrial conditional zoning, aligning with Statesville's 2019 mobility and development plans. A final council vote on the rezoning is expected on October 6, 2025. |
