Competition Law. Evidence on Collusive Practices

The aim of this project is to develop two activities for the study of European Union competition law by Spanish judges. The first of the activities will consist of a one-and-a-half-day training course given by Commission officials at the Judicial School in Barcelona. The School will ensure the organisation, implementation and follow-up of this course, which will be given in its classrooms, with all the health guarantees and the best teaching technology. To this end, the School has extensive experience in the organisation of courses, seminars, meetings and workshops, both in person and online, and will make available to the project all the know-how of its senior administrative and judicial staff, who are used to organising training events of the highest quality and with optimum results. In this course, the subjects taught by European Commission officials on European competition law will be analysed. Knowledge that will ultimately benefit European citizens, tending to highlight the agreements or concerted practices of those operators who act to prevent free competition in the European common market. The second training activity of the project will be a study visit to the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission in Brussels, in which ten course participants will continue the training given by Commission officials, establishing, in addition, networks and channels of communication between Spanish judges, and the European Authority, in such a way that the doctrine of the Judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 27 April 2017, C-469/15, on a cartel of imported fruit, is used in practice.
