Computerization of tax administration

The planned new FC project with a focus on good governance and decentralization is part of the joint development cooperation program Good Financial Governance in Cameroon. The aim of the FC project is to increase the performance of the Cameroonian tax administration through the use of an integrated information system. The FC project supports the Cameroonian tax administration authority Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI) in the acquisition and introduction of comprehensive, stable and developable tax administration software (Système Intégré pour la Gestion des Impôts et Taxes, SIGIT), which enables seamless processing of tax cases from the tax return to the tax assessment and payment tracking, including reorganization measures, user training and the procurement of hardware and software to network all departments of the DGI with this system. The target groups are the 3,622 administrative employees of the DGI, the tax-paying companies and the population of Cameroon.
