Cone Bay Barramundi Farm Expansion

Tassal is planning a major expansion of its barramundi farming operations at Cone Bay, Western Australia, increasing production from approximately 2,000 tonnes per year to 17,500 tonnes per year using 84 cages. The expansion involves relocating cages to deeper water to mitigate environmental and animal health risks and has been scaled back from 13 sites to 7. The project requires approval from the Western Australia Environmental Protection Authority and the federal environment department due to its location within the nationally heritage-listed West Kimberley region.
