The scope of the project entails the development of a pilot program to test connected vehicle infrastructure and technology in Oakland County, Michigan, located in the midwest region of the USA. The sponsors will develop a short-range communication system between vehicles, which will be able to send instantaneous electronic messages to vehicles, warning motorists of potentially dangerous driving situations such as a vehicle running a red light or stop sign as well as alerting drivers of dangerous road conditions and construction zones ahead.
