" Connected with Books features thirty outstanding literary works from various parts of Europe, primarily from lesser-used languages, which will be published in Slovenian, Polish, Estonian, North Macedonian, Croatian, Greek, and Italian markets. The selected works range from picture books for young readers to YA books and adult novels. The project highlights include well-known European authors, award-winning picture books and works for children, and small literary gems that might not otherwise easily reach the mentioned markets. Seven publishers from different countries have joined forces in this project to raise the profile of authors from 13 European countries. To increase the visibility of authors from smaller languages such as Slovenian, North Macedonian, Estonian and others, both in Europe and internationally, publishers' meetings will be organized, non-European publisher will be given residency opportunities, and the focus will be on selling rights and attending international book fairs. To enhance the profile of translators, the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators will host a one-week seminar for foreign translators who wish to translate from Slovenian into other languages. The project also includes a strategy to reach a larger audience and raise awareness of the diversity of European culture among readers. With the ""Reading Train"" activity, the goal is to attract more online readers and subscribers to book boxes and expand the audience. Authors (14 author tours) and translators (8 special evenings) will play an important role in events, introducing their works to a wider audience. Within 36 months, the combined efforts of 7 publishing teams, one translators' association, 23 authors, 22 illustrators, 16 translators, 9 editors, 7 designers, 25 project team members, 10 distributors, and 11 foreign editors who will participate in networking, will contribute to the successful completion of the project. A total of 123 professionals are involved. "
