Connecting Battlefield Active Travel Project Phase One

The first phase of Glasgow City Council's Connecting Battlefield active travel project has significantly improved public space and created a new, segregated cycle way on Queen's Drive extending south onto Langside Road. The cycle way provides easy access to key destinations such as Queen's Park and the New Victoria Hospital, linking to the South City Way at Victoria Road for direct access to the city centre. The project includes traffic signals prioritizing walking, wheeling, and cycling, widened footways, step-free pedestrian crossings, upgraded street lighting, improved local greenspaces, and refurbishment of historic railings and lanterns.
