CONNECTOR FROM SR 17 TO SR 30

construction work program

The proj will widen & reconstruct Highlands Blvd. & Benton Blvd. from 2-lanes to 4-lanes with a rsd median from SR 17/Jimmy DeLoach Pkwy. to SR 30, length 2.1 miles. Accommodates passenger, freight & transit traf., pedestrians & cyclists. The existing 2-lane Benton Blvd. brdg over St. Augustine Crk widens to 4-lanes with a rsd median. Project located in Chatham Co. within the City of Savannah S of St. Augustine Crk & the City of Port Wentworth N of the creek. Existing ROW of Highlands Blvd. & Benton Blvd. is wide enough to accommodate widening to 4-lanes except in a few nominal areas to complement the add'l capacity on Highlands Blvd. & Benton Blvd. The SR 17/Jimmy DeLoach Pkwy intersections with Highlands Blvd. & the I-95 SB ramp will be modified to provide add'l capacity thru the conversion & extension of existing Rt turn lanes to auxiliary lanes from 0.3 miles W of Highlands Blvd. to SR 17 brdg over I-95 & the addition of a second Lt turn lane on I-95 southbound exit ramp.
