ConnRAD Vehicle-to-Everything Communication System

completed

The three-year ConnRAD project developed methods to assess the reliability of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication for automated driving functions. The project created mechanisms for communication partners in road traffic to verify and evaluate reliability and suitability of transmitted information to support safety-critical driving functions. It demonstrated improvements in left-turns at urban intersections using infrastructure sensors communicating with vehicles, developed a communication architecture incorporating cybersecurity, functional safety, and regulatory requirements, and extended message protocols for continuous evaluation during operation.
