Description | Project 2013-02: Streambank repair was part of the Marin Resource Conservation District’s Conserving Our Watersheds Program. The program assists agricultural operations with stewardship activities that improve water quality. An un-vegetated bank along Chileno Creek was eroding a portion of an adjacent pasture. The project team decided on a cost-effective repair, which consisted of willow poles, stakes and a wattle from the toe to the top of the bank. The objective of the project repair was to stabilize the bank with willow roots in order to bolster the bank from the eddies created in high flow events. This project is vulnerable to natural forces given the simplicity of the repair. |
