Consolidated Wastewater Treatment Project

The proposed project will construct one new wastewater treatment plant to replace three old existing treatment plants. The new facility will treat sewage to a high standard to meet provincial and federal regulations and protect the marine environment. The facility will provide sewage treatment well into the future for the downtown, Wildwood and Westview areas and will have capacity to serve the Tla’amin Nation. The project works will include: - Construction of wastewater treatment facility (Process Building and Bioreactor) providing secondary treatment or better; - Construction of four new pumpstations; - Installation of approximately 4.5km of new forcemains; - Installation of approximately 1.4km of gravity/siphon main; - Improvements to existing sanitary sewer system; - Construction of administration and process buildings; - Installation of disinfection system and odour control; - Installation of outfall including lift station and diffuser system; - Landscaping and recreational-trail upgrades; - Decommissioning of existing treatment facilities at Wildwood, Westview and Townsite; and, - Related electrical, instrumentation and controls, civil and mechanical works.
