Description
Description | Coordinated by Eurocities with support from MigrationWork, the European Network of Migrant Women and the local authorities of Athens (EL), Cluj-Metropolitan Area (RO), Dortmund (DE), Fuenlabrada (ES), Ghent (BE), Gothenburg (SE), Lublin (PL), Milan (IT), Nantes (FR), Sofia (BG), Vienna (AT), Zagreb (HR), CONSOLIDATE (Consolidating, innovating and disseminating effective integration practices in Europe) focuses on supporting local authorities to make their integration strategies more effective through three thematic communities of practice (COP) covering: 1) Measures for the early labour market integration 2) Local housing support instruments to help refugees and other newcomers to become autonomous 3) One Stop Shops: an accessible and efficient model for coordinated service provision Each COP will develop thematic benchmarks and conduct peer reviews to inform the planning and implementation of an innovative pilot in each city. CONSOLIDATE focuses explicitly –but not exclusively– on refugee integration. It will tackle cross-cutting governance challenges through dedicated online training sessions on generating and sharing data on newcomers, developing women-centred integration policies, and managing the transition from an “emergency response” to a strategic approach to migration. City practitioners will be trained to provide tailored peer support to cities outside the project, selected through an open call, to consolidate Eurocities’ Integration Champions Initiative as a unique peer support tool for less experienced cities. CONSOLIDATE will make the project’s results accessible to integration stakeholders through 12 transferable best practice solutions with a favourable cost-benefit ratio; 3 filmed Masterclasses, How-to-Guides and research and policy briefs. It will organise a new edition of the Integrating Cities conference focused on effective knowledge and practice transfer. The project website will be hosted on the following page: https://integratingcities.eu/projects/ |
