Description

Description

After the community was hit by the tornado of Sept 21, 2018, it developed a series of legacy projects to enhance community life through access to new facilities & outdoor spaces. These projects would memorialize the tornado and the community’s rebuilding by incorporating wood from its fallen trees that were collected and milled. The Construction of an Outdoor Wood Pavilion (the project) consists of the building of an outdoor wood pavilion that would be located adjacent to the Trend-Arlington Community Centre to serve multiple community needs e.g. hosting community events. The project scope involves the construction of a large wood pavilion (40’ x 60’, i.e. 2400 sf), which would incorporate a portion of lumber milled from the community’s fallen trees. After first laying down a new concrete slab, the pavilion would be shipped as a ready-measured kit, to be assembled onsite.
