Information Northeast Frontier Railway [NFR] - II has come up with Construction of Balurghat-Hilli new BG Line with a ticket size of 1208.67 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Not Applicable Economic/Social Impact of the Project The detailed Estimate of BLGT-Hilli New BG line project situated in Dakhin Dinajpur district of West Bengal was sanctioned by Rly.Bd?s vide L/No.2007/W1/NL/NF/Balurghat-Hilli dated 29-12-2010. project was kept in abeyance as communicated vide Rly. Bd. L/No. D.O.2019/W-1/Genl./Budget/1 dt.24.09.2019. Now, it has been decided to de - freezing of Balurghat ? Hilli new line project vide Rly Bd. L/No. 2022/W-1/NFR/NL/Hilli- Balurghat dated 08.03.2022. Land Acquisition is under process. Since the Gazette of India notification under 20E was published on July 7, 2023, and subsequent awards were declared by the District Magistrate on October 13, 2023, for 40 Land Acquisition cases out of 41 Land Acquisition cases, the Railway has diligently deposited Rs-298 crores Approx. from July 2023 to August 2023, in phased manner, as per the demands of the District Magistrate, to facilitate the payment disbursement to landowners and cover administrative Charges. As of now, Rs. 40.2 crores Approx. has been disbursed to Landowners.
