Construction of Biofuel Pellet Plant

Hughes Energy Group is planning to construct a biofuel pellet plant on a 15-acre site at the former Green-Del Sanitation solid waste transfer station in Grand Gorge. The project scope includes construction of a 115,000-sq-ft processing building and a 9,500-sq-ft administration building; installation of steam boilers; and purchase and installation of solid waste sorting, steam treatment, autoclave loading, separation, screening, drying, and pelletizing equipment. The plant will have the capacity to process 175,000 tons of organic solid waste per year. Hughes Energy’s UK-based affiliate, Wilson Bio-Chemical Ltd., is providing process technology for the project. H2M architects + engineers is providing architectural and design engineering services and Turner Construction Company has been selected as the general contractor.
