Description

The project consists of developing the following public community, cultural and recreational spaces while seeking to obtain LEED Gold and Zero Carbon Building certifications: - Two large multipurpose multimedia rooms and a multifunctional event space that can accommodate community and cultural events; - Up to twenty meeting rooms, a training room and an international simulation laboratory; - A lobby and common areas, including a food area; - Recreational and/or active transportation components, in particular outdoor facilities, including green and rest areas, a forecourt and covered bicycle parking spaces as well as a pedestrian and service tunnel; - A parking lot with charging stations for electric vehicles aimed at improving access to clean energy transportation; - A green roof on a portion of the roof allowing the collection and treatment of rainwater; and - The replacement of 3,800 square metres of pavement by green spaces. The costs of furniture, equipment and information technology ($3 million) are not eligible project costs.
