Description | Located in the Central Mountain Range, 50 km from the city of Santiago de Los Caballeros, the Las Placetas Hydroelectric Project is going to have an installed capacity of 204 MW and will take the most of natural fall of about 517 m of the Bao River and the Jagua River. for the generation of 410.2 GWh / year of clean energy. The conception of the project foresees the construction of 3 concrete dams, 2 underground powerhouses, and a total of approximately 30 km of tunnel. Due to its layout, the total drop was divided into two generating units, allowing the two powerhouses to be operated independently. |
