Construction of new fences and rehabilitation of Plattsville Baseball field

Install a new fence and upgrade the Baseball diamond to increase usage Replace existing fencing that is becoming irreparable Install a cover for users to stay out of the weather elements Provide an Outfield safety barrier between the ball field and the park tree line. Create a safer playing field, that allows for the community to become more active (a study shows that Oxford County residents are 18% more obese then the average) Replace the existing backstop, replace the existing side line fences (higher fences will provide safety for the players and spectators), add covered dug outs to the players benches, add a warning track and an outfield fence (safety barrier for players, prevents players from running into a tree tracking a ball). The population of the Township of Blandford-Blenheim is 7500. By completing this project we would see a 75% increase in usage during a season. Our direct community would add an additional 45% usage, the neighbouring communities would would bring 30% more usage to this diamond. Raising the height of the fences, and having an outfield fence would bring more opportunity for adults to be more active within our community.
