Information Water Resources Department, Bihar has come up with Construction work of the right and the left main canal system and the structures originating from Mandai Weir. with a ticket size of 232.83 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project Location of main component of Mandai Weir as below :- Weir- Modanganj block in Jehanabad district. Right Main Canal & its Systems - Modanganj block in Jehanabad district and Ekangarsarai block in Nalanda district. Left Main Canal & its Systems - Modanganj block in Jehanabad district and Dhanarua block in Patna district. The deadline for completion of the scheme was December 2019 but due to the problem of land acquisition and the villagers not taking the compensation for land acquisition at the old rate, the work could not be completed in the stipulated time. The updated progress of the scheme is 68 per cent. The target is to complete the scheme by June 2025 after completing the land acquisition process. With the construction of this scheme, 3759 hectare irrigation capacity will be created in Modanganj block of Jehanabad district, Ekangarsarai block of Nalanda district and Dhanarua block of Patna district.
