Economic/Social Impact of the Project National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation’s [NICDC’s] Logistics Databank Project [LDB] is a smart community project between India and Japan which was implemented through a special purpose vehicle [SPV] between Govt. of India represented by National Industrial Corridor Development Implementation Trust [NICDIT] and Japanese IT major, NEC Corporation, under the title of “NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd.” [formerly known as DMICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd.]. The project aims to bring in visibility and efficiency across the current Indian Logistics environment by reducing the transaction cost and time delays in container transportation using Information Technology. The project has been implemented with the cooperation of Ministry of Shipping, Ministry of Road Transportation and Highways, Ministry of Railways and other Government and Private stakeholders. The project is currently operational across 17 Ports in India covering approximately 170 Container Freight Stations [CFS]/Inland Container Depots [ICD] and around 60 Toll plazas and 3 Integrated Check Posts [ICP] and 9 Special Economic Zones [SEZ] and providing enhanced visibility of 100percentage EXIM container movement. The project is also integrated with all ports Terminal Operating System [TOS] and Freight Operations Information System [FOIS] for better visibility of container movement. NLDSL has successfully tracked 48 million containers.
