Continental Carbon India Ltd (CCIL) is a carbon black manufacturing company with the capacity to produce 65,000 tons per annum (tpa) of carbon black and generate up to 4.4 MW of power from its co-generation (co-gen) facility, located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. The project is comprised of three main components: - the upgrading and expansion of its power co-generation facility from 4.4 MW to about 15 MW of power; - further de-bottlenecking and modernization of the plant, particularly through replacement of inefficient bag collectors, blowers, and a tread reactor; and - the restructuring of outstanding IFC A and B loans in the amount of $6.0 million and $5.75 million, respectively. The project is expected to yield significant efficiency and environmental improvements in addition to incremental revenue from sales of power and steam.
