Description
Description | The Continental Coliseum is a new 750,000 square foot arena being constructed in Downtown Oklahoma City on the site of the former Myriad Convention Center. It is the largest development project in Oklahoma City history and will serve as the future home of the Oklahoma City Thunder basketball team. The project was approved by city vote in late 2023 and has a projected cost of $900 million, with the majority funded by taxpayers through sales tax extensions and MAPS funding. Construction officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony on March 26, 2026, and the arena is expected to be completed and operational by 2028. The arena is designed by MANICA Architecture and constructed primarily by Fintco and Mortenson Construction. Naming rights have been secured by Continental Resources for a 15-year contract. |
