Continental film is a family-run film distribution company in Slovakia. It was founded in 1997 and has been distributing Warner Bros. theatrical features, independent titles mainly from Europe, and local films. Continental film’s comprehensive portfolio contains some of the best and most successful independent and studio productions such as Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Interstellar, or Two is a family. With more than 20 years of experience, the company is one of the leaders in film distribution in Slovakia. On December 31, 2021, 16 distribution companies were officially registered in Slovakia. In terms of market share (admissions and box office revenue) among all distributors, Continental film ranked second last year, with a 19,3% market share. Our company strongly believes that we will be able to bring more European movies to our Slovak viewers. Potential support from grants will help us to enrich Slovak cinemas with great European movies, which we are persuaded are necessary to spread to the whole world. Potential support will be used for the distribution of European movies in our country. As we are a well-established company with years of experience in film distribution, with a strong portfolio behind us, we are persuaded that we will be able again to reinvest support to the best of the best European movies and support European cinematography.
