Description

Description

EDIH-IS 2.0 will continue to serve as a strategic driver of digital transformation for SMEs and PSOs across Iceland. Anchored in strong regional expertise, EDIH-IS will provide high-impact services in four core areas: test-before-invest, training and skills development, access to finance, and innovation ecosystem building. With a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence, EDIH-IS will offer tailored support to strengthen the digital maturity, competitiveness, and sustainability of Icelandic SMEs and PSOs. Through structured assessments and experimentation facilities, EDIH-IS will continue to empower its clients to adopt innovative technologies with reduced risk and increased confidence. EDIH-IS will furthermore ensure broad accessibility and inclusiveness by actively engaging underserved regions in the country-side, which do require further attention. The hub will also be leading a targeted initiative, as a Thematic Working Group, on Women in AI. This Thematic Working Group will be open to all EDIHs across Europe to take part in, and multiple hubs have already expressed their support towards this initiative. The impact of EDIH-IS will be amplified through close cooperation with other EDIHs across Europe, EU AI infrastructures, along with local innovation actors, enabling cross-border knowledge exchange and seamless client referrals in Iceland and across the ocean. By the submission of this application, multiple MoUs on collaboration have been drafted with EDIHs in other countries. This project will be managed through transparent governance structures, robust coordination, and continuous performance monitoring. By facilitating access to public and private funding sources, and supporting investment readiness, EDIH-IS will unlock growth opportunities for the innovation ecosystem in Iceland. Lastly, EDIH-IS will contribute to Europe’s strategic autonomy to ensure that digital transformation delivers tangible economic and societal benefits across the region.
