• The project will replace seven diesel buses at the end of their useful life with seven battery-electric buses. The project will assist in Oakville Transit’s transition to a low-carbon fleet; eliminate the noise pollution of bus operations in residential areas; and reduce the transit fleet’s overall operation, maintenance and lifecycle costs. • The full scope of the project includes: i) the completion of a needs assessment study to determine the proper on-street and charging infrastructure required to support integration of fully electric conventional buses into the Oakville Transit fleet in support of Oakville’s overall purchase of electric buses; and ii) the purchase of seven battery electric buses and the installation of two single-port HD chargers and two double-port HD chargers, and associated infrastructure, which will be installed at Oakville Transit’s Maintenance and Storage Facility.
