Conversion of a former area into a multifunctioning centre and community centre renovation

The arena, which has been closed since 2017, would be transformed into a multifunctional centre with a range of sports disciplines, as well as a complete renovation of the existing community centre. The feasibility study was published in autumn 2022 and the project is worth around $16 million, so applications for financial assistance will be completed. Papineauville is a fast-growing municipality with a population of 2,300, which is expected to double over the next 25 years. The addition of such a complex would be very welcome to serve this population as well as that of neighbouring communities. There’s a secondary school nearby, as well as a primary school coming soon, and the school services centre has already committed to occupying such a complex, along with a number of local sports and community associations.
