Description

Spark Reply and Concept Reply developed a smart app feature called 'COOL' within the BMW Prototyping App '360° Mobility' that analyses the current electricity mix and shows users in real time when it is at its cleanest to encourage low-carbon charging habits. The app uses playful interactions and personalised AI-generated images to motivate drivers to charge during low-carbon periods, supported by a scalable backend and cloud architecture integrated into BMW's systems. The project was piloted with 355 BMW drivers in the Netherlands between April and July 2025, analyzing over 13,000 charging sessions and showing significant improvements in charging behavior.
