A group of mechanical engineering students at the University of Texas at San Antonio designed a cooling bench system that uses the San Antonio Water System's chilled water network to cool bus riders at stops, particularly in the downtown area. The project aims to address the hot Texas summers and improve public transportation experience by creating a cooling corridor from the downtown campus to Hemisfair Park.
