Description | "Young women in Mozambique & Angola—over 50% of the youth population and 6 Mn people—can drive economic growth and sustainable development. Yet, many face structural disempowerment, lack education, are excluded from the labour market, have low civic participation, remain trapped in poverty. Empowering them requires breaking cultural & social barriers, equipping youth organizations with proven methodologies & practices. ""COOP4YOUTH: International Cooperation for Capacity Building&Youth Empowerment"" strengthens youth organizations and empowers young women through non-formal education, enhancing skills essential for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship and leadership as changemakers aligned with EU values. It also raises awareness among Portuguese youth about global challenges, fostering responsibility and engagement. The project unites 5 partners from Portugal, Mozambique & Angola around a UNESCO-recognized non-formal education model and a proven digital program. Also key: a mobility activity, featuring a bootcamp connecting youth from all 3 countries to drive future interventions. COOP4YOUTH directly benefits 1,656 individuals: •21 youth workers & 35 young women linked to local initiatives enhance their knowledge of an innovative methodology and experience digital practices, preparing them for future initiatives. •1,600 young vulnerable women (ages 17-30) —including secondary school finalists, youth not in education, employment, or training, tertiary students and graduates— gain skills in digital literacy, media, communication, leadership, and changemaking, develop career pathways, work-readiness, engage in community-based mentoring, gain awareness of EU values. Also, 60 young Portuguese leaders develop global consciousness & a positive outlook on international cooperation. The project generates 20 outputs, including strategic plans, reports, a digital learning platform, SHINE training content, partner training initiatives, Youth Community Activation Plans." |
