CIRCLE project intends to promote participation in Adult Learning (AL) and skills development through effective collaboration among stakeholders. The project acknowledges the challenges faced by the field of AL in Greece and sets relevant objectives: a) Improving governance. CIRCLE will establish a National Steering Committee consisting of representatives of public authorities, local government and social partners, a Core Project Team and a Team of Experts, and will organize five regional conferences. b) Increasing adult participation in AL. CIRCLE will promote a diagnosis of participation in General Adult Education (GAE), a national campaign, the development of Career Counselling, and a report on the role and qualifications of adult educators. c) Promoting upskilling and reskilling of adults. CIRCLE will support skills’ development at local/regional level, development of language, digital, green and transversal skills of socially vulnerable groups, updating/upgrading the curricula of Second Chance Schools, and creation of a Transition Observatory for their graduates. d) Promoting resilient, qualitative and inclusive AL. This objective will be pursued through the stated tasks, and by the development of an accreditation procedure for GAE programmes. CIRCLE builds on the results of past relevant activities, is complementary with various other actions, and draws on the outcomes of earlier European projects. Moreover, CIRCLE includes an internal quality assurance and monitoring strategy, as well as a system of external mid-term and final evaluation. It also includes a dissemination and communication plan that aims at ensuring wide exploitation of the outcomes at national and European level. Finally, CIRCLE will collaborate with the European National Coordinators to formulate recommendations, create common mobility and collaborative actions funded by the EU, and a community of ambassadors interested in strengthening AL in the EU after the project ends.
