Cooperation between Lithuania and Belarus by Developing Healthy, Safe and Innovative School

Low level of schoolchildren's physical activeness is a pressing problem for both Alytus county and Grodno oblast. The lack of schoolchildren's occupation leads to bad health, withdrawal and unwillingness to communicate, addiction to psychotropic substances, even to propensity for criminal activities. It is necessary to change their attitude to healthy lifestyle and active sports. A new education and training based on healthy living will prevent development of unhealthy habits. The improved education services in 4 schools (2 in Lithuania and 2 in Belarus), trained teachers, common Lithuanian-Belarusian events and increased occupation of children will enhance cooperation, experience exchange, reduce social tensions, alcohol/drug use, crime and social exclusion. Project aims to contribute to increase of close cooperation between Alytus county and Grodno oblast in education sector by promoting a healthy lifestyle during physical education lessons and higher supply of after-school activities in sports sphere.
