Description

Description

The US Geological Survey (USGS) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU Partner for research in Developing recommendations and data for improving the characterization and monitoring of stream health in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.  USGS is responsible for developing cutting edge tools and approaches for meeting stakeholder needs related to mapping land use/land cover, hydrography, and for monitoring stream and watershed health across the Chesapeake watershed. The USGS wishes to collaborate with the Chesapeake Watershed Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to increase technical capacity and accelerate the development of key information to inform stakeholders and the interested public.  This funding opportunity is designed to include two interrelated goals that will advance the ability to inform decision making across the Chesapeake Bay watershed. The USGS desires to make concurrent progress on both goals, which include:Organizing and facilitating a stream health monitoring workshop and summarizing results and recommendations.Developing and demonstrating methods to assess and extrapolate stream flow metrics.
