Cooperatives' contribution to quality employment and social inclusion 2024

The 2024 project intends to support the implementation of the EPSR at EU and national level by collecting and exchanging good practices, providing recommendations for policy design to the EU institutions, and facilitating mutual learning related to cooperatives contributing to quality employment, social inclusion, and combatting poverty, and to support the European Semester process at EU and national levels. In particular, the project will be supporting the implementation and awareness raising of the EU policy initiatives relevant to the core mission of CECOP, mainly the EU Social Economy Action Plan, Council Recommendations for social economy, EU Care Strategy, EU Initiative on Platform Work and EU Skills Agenda. It will also help brining cooperatives voice and requests in the upcoming EU elections. It will also reinforce the capacity of the CECOP network and its members to contribute actively to the development and implementation of EU policies in the areas of quality employment, social inclusion, and combatting poverty, and to the policy priorities of the next EU 2024-2029 term. More specifically, the 2024 project will focus on the implementation of the EPSR principles such as Education, training, and life-long learning; Secure and adaptable employment; Long-term care; and access to essential services. It will bring the cooperative dimension to the mentioned topics and provide the European Commission with recommendations for further policy design in those fields. The project will help CECOP’s Italian members to better engage with the EU and be involved in the implementation of the EPSR at national level, in cooperation with other stakeholders (national governments and civil society). It will also allow members to learn from each other and transpose solutions from one country to another in order to be more effective in the implementation of the EPSR. The project will reinforce the capacities of CECOP to better engage with its members (through statutory meetings).
