Description | Brazil’s investment fund Bordeaux Fundo de Investimento em Participações Multiestratégia has acquired 100% of the shares of Copel Telecomunicações which is a subsidiary of the energy state-owned company Copel. The fund sponsoring this project was founded in 2016 and has a 10-year tenor, including 7 years for making investments and 3 years for divestments, according to documents from Brazil’s capital markets regulator CVM. Total cost of the shares was valued at R2,395,000,000 ($446.3 million), which represented an increase of 71% on the minimum amount established for the auction. That auction involved an upfront fee of BRL50 million (USD9.1 million) alongside an additional BRL80 million (USD14.6 million) commitment.
