COPI – Fertilizer Terminal at the Port of Itaqui/MA

The project refers to the early renewal for another 20 years of the lease agreement for an area located within the Organized Port of Itaqui-Ma, dedicated to the movement of fertilizers, signed between Companhia Operadora Portuária do Itaqui – COPI, in the Port of Itaqui- MA and the Maranhense Port Administration Company – EMAP. In general terms, the project includes the implementation of a warehouse with 70,000 tons of static capacity and a conveyor belt of 1,250 tons/hour, totaling approximately R$57 million in investments. With the new investments requested, the lessee intends to increase its fertilizer handling capacity to 2 million tons per year, absorbing, according to the Development and Zoning Plan of the Port of Itaqui, two thirds of the projected demand until 2023.
